McLaughlin Eastshore State Park – Brickyard Cove Site Improvement
Year completed: 2022
Brickyard Cove at McLaughlin Eastshore State Park is a remarkable public resource offering breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay and skyline. The literal dump site improvement of this area that transformed it into a multi-use, easily accessible, nature preserve represents the culmination of a decade-long effort by local residents and public agencies to preserve the Bay shoreline for public use and protect it from development. Spanning 8.5 miles along the bay shoreline from the Bay Bridge to Richmond, McLaughlin Eastshore State Park encompasses 1,833 acres of diverse upland and tideland habitat, making it a vital ecological and recreational asset.
