Wondering how to use recycled water in the landscape?
On Monday, May 20, 2019 Ben Glickstein, EBMUD Community Affairs Representative, and Nelda Matheny, Managing Horticulturalist of HortScience | Bartlett Consulting will present on using recycled water in the landscape.
Join us to learn about EBMUD’s Water Recycling Program, the water recycling process and the benefits and best management practices for irrigating with recycled water. EBMUD’s Recycled Water Master Plan which outlines the goals, priorities and customer support for the distribution of recycled water in Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Albany, Alameda, San Ramon, and Danville will also be covered.
As an EBMUD Community Affairs Representative, Ben conducts trainings on recycled water throughout the East Bay. Ben previously conducted community outreach for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority.
Nelda Matheny is the Managing Horticulturalist of HortScience | Bartlett Consulting. She has 35 years of experience in horticulture, arboriculture and urban forestry in the San Francisco Bay Area. Nelda specializes in soil and water quality assessment, plant problem diagnosis, and assessing and managing sites irrigated with recycled and desalinated water. Nelda is finalizing the book Designing and Managing Landscapes Using Recycled Water with Larry Costello under the direction of Eric Hansen and WateReuse.

Public transportation is encouraged. The Administration Building is conveniently located near the Broadway and 12th Street BART station. If public transportation is not an option, validated parking is available at the Pacific Renaissance Plaza garage on Webster Street. Bring your token to the meeting and EBMUD will validate at the end of the meeting. Please note, there is no parking available in the EBMUD parking garage.
