How does a blackwater system promote eco-tourism?
At the next Landscape Advisory Committee General Meeting, Peter Haase, Principal Engineer with Sherwood Design Engineers Inc. and Chief Technical Officer for Kanso Inc., will present on water and wastewater systems to aid rural communities, eco-tourism, and healthcare in countries including Fiji, Grenadines, Mexico, Haiti, Liberia, Rwanda and China. Come take a tour with us around the world to see how these innovative water conservation projects contribute to the health of communities and the environment.
Peter has 35 years of experience in civil, environmental, and water resources engineering. Peter has completed a broad range of engineering design and planning studies throughout California and internationally, including China, Mexico, Hawaii, Fiji, Honduras, Costa Rica, West Indies, Liberia, Rwanda and Haiti. Peter instructs courses and presents at international conferences on ecological engineering and small community water and wastewater management solutions. Peter holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Resource Engineering and a M.S. degree in Environmental Systems with an emphasis on international development and technology.
The meeting will be held at the EBMUD Administration Building at 375 11th Street in Oakland on the second floor. The Administration Building is conveniently located near the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station. Please arrive promptly. Light refreshments will be served.
Public transportation is encouraged. If public transportation is not an option, validated parking is available at the Pacific Renaissance Plaza garage on Webster Street. Bring your token to the meeting and EBMUD will validate. Please note, there is no parking available in the EBMUD parking garage.
