Three and a half years ago I got really lucky, and found organization and with people who make a difference, who value our landscapes, and who believe in being Bay and River Friendly really means being friendly. Since signing on as the Executive Director in 2014, we’ve had a lot of changes. Bay-Friendly moved office. We rebranded to ReScape California in order to better serve a broader geographic range. We’ve hired great staff. We have a terrific board. And the big one, we merged with EcoLandscape California in order to better make a difference in healthy, renewable landscapes, communities, and environments. All of these changes took the input and work of a lot of amazing people.
We now have a renewed organization with science-based programs, engaged staff and instructors, and good materials. It is a solid foundation. It is now time to expand the programs and the geographic range. It is an excellent time for someone to come in and help guide the direction and expansion of this larger organization.
Milena Fiore joins ReScape California during a time of growth and expansion, with the merger of organizations from Northern and Southern California. She is inspired by the mission and principles of ReScape, and provides vision and leadership. Milena is supported by experienced and dedicated Board of Directors (and as previously noted, energetic, knowledgeable and talented staff and instructors).
I appreciate those of you I’ve worked with, and I look forward to seeing where Milena takes ReScape California.
