Equity Office Properties was looking for ways to reduce water use while creating an inviting sustainable landscape at it’s Drake Landing Office Park property in Greenbrae. Using sheet mulching for lawn conversion the project replaced almost two acres of alwn and high water use plantings with a beautiful native wildflower meadow. Instead of hauling the lawn to the landfill it was left in place and covered with layers of cardboard, compost and mulch. the landscape contractor, Cagwin & Dorward held an ice cream social to demonstrate sheet mulching techniques to tenants, and the surrounding community.
