Friends of San Leandro Creek, with grant funding from the Schwemm Family Foundation, is proud to present:

A Two-Part Workshop with A.L. Riley

 
This year’s rain highlights the impacts facing homes & businesses bordering San Leandro Creek.  Shifting soil and uprooted trees are an issue for concern.  Dr. Riley will illustrate basic “do’s and don’ts for managing urban streams and proper landscaping to support creek banks.

  1. Presentation – Tuesday, March 14 from 6:30 – 8:00pm, Friends of San Leandro Creek’s Member Meeting, San Leandro Library, Estudillo Room

    Presentation – Monday, March 20 from 1:00 – 2:30pm, San Leandro City Hall, South Offices

AND

Hands-on training will center upon biotechnical erosion control measures, utilizing various soil bioengineering principles, that can be designed and implemented by anyone interested in low-tech measures that mimic nature’s own erosion control  solutions.

2. Hands-on Workshop Training – Saturday, March 25 from 10:00am – 2:00pm, Root Park, San Leandro
