A Two-Part Workshop with A.L. Riley
This year’s rain highlights the impacts facing homes & businesses bordering San Leandro Creek. Shifting soil and uprooted trees are an issue for concern. Dr. Riley will illustrate basic “do’s and don’ts for managing urban streams and proper landscaping to support creek banks.

Hands-on training will center upon biotechnical erosion control measures, utilizing various soil bioengineering principles, that can be designed and implemented by anyone interested in low-tech measures that mimic nature’s own erosion control solutions.
